Object-oriented/Event-oriented writing allows opportunities for communicative acts to arise only at the interfaces, the crossing points of various documents: Commentary, comparisons, question and answer, contrast, variation, reversal ... net-work-texts overgrow the "limits", explode the boundaries of the classical book page and the simple desktop metaphor of the monitor. The interconnected monitor allows the knowledge navigator to awake out of the slumber of staring at monitors and of choosing one dimensional programs. The screen expands from being a mere window/frame, in which simulations of world images appear (TV) - first to become the computer monitor - a window through which one can view various knowledge-landscapes in self-determined perspectives and manipulate objects of knowledge (picture-screen-thinking) - an then, through the inclusion of hyper-medial knowledge-topographies in telematic networks, opens up to allow entry into the Landscape of communal text and data. (The metaphor of the door, often used by the apologists of Virtual Reality, falsely gives the impression that the user has to walk into the screen - become a physical part of the simulation - instead of using the vehicle/the interface of the monitor to enter social domains, or to construct and design them...)
